What's on?
The Willows on the Wear is Atlas Theatre Company CIC’s community theatre project 2025/ 2026 inspired by The Wind in the Willows, set along the banks of the River Wear. The project celebrates local stories and landscapes, involving local schools, the community group, and public contributions to bring the story to life. With performances by local primary schools that gives young people hands-on experience in theatre to a larger scale community company production Supported by the Hays Travel Foundation, it provides inclusive, participatory theatre experiences for the wider community.

Little Drama Class
Discover the magic of theatre with our Little Drama Class! Our playful classes use classic children’s stories like Jack & the Beanstalk and Goldilocks to spark imagination, build confidence, and support early learning.
Through movement, role play, and song, little ones develop communication skills, explore emotions, and grow their creativity – all while having fun!
